Asperger's Syndrome is a light-hearted and touching take on how young people with Asperger's Syndrome experience life. Biomation is an animation project based at York Hospital NHS Trust working with young people, which aims to help them to better understand their illness and create animations that can help other young people do the same. In partnership with the Lime Trees Child and Adolescent Mental Health Unit in York, the young people involved were able to create an animation film, with the support of the Biomation team, and express shared experiences about living with Asperger's.
A short animation with a lot of information, the film covers diagnosis, understanding other people (mind blindness) and sensory overload which is common amongst people with Asperger's. The second link provides insightful interviews with the young people that took part in creating the animation film, and gives a great starting point for beginning to understand life with Asperger's.
