Oceano Dentro (The Ocean Within)

A crew composed of the Mental Health Service of Trento sets sail from Cadice, headed for the Dutch Antilles.

'The Ocean Within' is a film documentary which tells the story of Pier Gianni Burreddu, a musician with a long and painful past of mental illness. Pier joins the crew on "the crazy people's boat", aiming to address prejudice and social stigma which are still prevalent today, 30 years after the abolition of the Italian mental asylums.

Following a month of adventurous navigation among storms and close encounters with whales, the crew of the Trento mental health service team, and mental health service users, show that we are all human beings with the right to be treated equally without the burden of stigma.
